HON. KINGSLEY NTUI’S STERLING 365 DAYS IN OFFICE: THE JOURNEY SO FAR
Hon. Isong Kingsley Ntui, the member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA), celebrates a year in office, reflecting on significant accomplishments and future ambitions.
CITATION
As a grassroots politician, Hon. Ntui began his political journey as a student leader at the University of Calabar. He later emerged as the Councillor representing Ajassor Ward in Etung Local Government Council of Cross River State in 2004. In 2007, he became the Supervisor for Works and Public Utility, and in 2010, he was appointed the European Union Programme Technical Adviser.
In party administration, Hon. Ntui was elected Etung Chapter Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2016, where he served meritoriously. He subsequently became the State Chairman of the PDP Chapter Chairmen’s Forum and the National Secretary of the PDP National Chapter Chairmen’s Forum.
MOTIONS:
Hon. Ntui sponsored one of the most remarkable motions in the 10th Assembly, urging the Cross River State Government and relevant Federal Government agencies to transform Etung Local Government Area from a rural settlement into an urban center.
OVERSIGHTS:
Hon. Ntui is an active member of various oversight and ad-hoc committees of the House. He makes his constituents proud with his impactful presence and addresses profound issues penetrating the very fabric of society. His representation goes beyond mere rhetoric.
EMPOWERMENT/HUMAN DEVELOPMENT:
Students of Etung extraction vying for elective offices and positions across tertiary institutions are not left out, as Hon. Ntui provides forms and logistical support to aspirants and candidates. He also intends to initiate multiple skill acquisition and vocational training programs.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT:
Hon. Ntui, purchased fifty (50) Joint Admission & Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms, Fifty (50) College of Health Technology forms and hundreds of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) forms for his constituents, and also provided periodic cash donations to students across institutions to ease the impact of the economy.
SPORT DEVELOPMENT:
As a sports lover, Hon. Ntui is set to unveil a grassroots football competition for primary and secondary schools across the local government to complement Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s administration in sports development. At the end of the competition, talents will be identified for sponsorship into football academies.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
In a bid to propel economic growth and development in Etung, Hon. Ntui, inaugurated a Strategic Development Plan termed “Etung Economic Development Team,” a sustainable framework towards the expansion of the ideals of the economy of Etung. This roadmap aims to harness the abundant natural resources and human potential of Etung Local Government Area.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
Hon. Ntui emphasizes the importance of engaging with his constituents. These interactions have helped him stay attuned to the needs and concerns of the people, ensuring that his policies and projects align with their expectations.
Verifiable statistics reveals that his financial assistance power base is super dynamic and robust.
HEALTHCARE INTERVENTION:
The constituency would soon see the establishment of mobile clinics to reach remote areas and ensure that healthcare services are accessible to all. Additionally, several community health outreach programs will be conducted, focusing on maternal and child health.
INTERVENTION IN AGRICULTURE:
Recognizing the agrarian nature of Etung, Hon. Ntui established a Constituency Agriculture Development Programme for Women and Youths, to provide farmers with essential tools, fertilizers, and improved seed varieties. These efforts will contribute to increased agricultural productivity and sustainability in the constituency.
BURSARY/SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME:
To advance educational growth and development, Hon. Kingsley Ntui has established a scholarship scheme for students of Etung origin in both higher and non-higher institutions of learning. Additionally, arrangements are in top gear to provide bursaries to students.
FUTURE PLANS:
Looking ahead, Hon. Ntui aims to build on the successes of his first year by launching new initiatives focused on sustainable development.

CONCLUSION:
As a notable voice in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Ntui, has many motions to his credit, particularly the motion calling on the Cross River State Government in conjunction with relevant Federal Government Agencies to facilitate the establishment and implementation of a modern plan for the development of Etung; this will enable adequate utilization of her potentials within the Nigerian/Cameroon Joint Border Post and the Hanging Bridge at Mfum Border in Ajassor Community.
