JUPEB Programme: UNICAL Announces Sales of Admission Forms, Commences Registration

Ahead of the new academic year, the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced the commencement of sales of admission forms for the 2024/2025 academic session for its Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) programme.

The JUPEB programme offers students an alternative pathway to secure direct entry admission into the second year (200 Level) of degree programmes in Nigerian universities, including UNICAL, and other JUPEB-affiliated institutions both locally and internationally.

At UNICAL, the JUPEB programme covers various disciplines, including Sciences, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Arts/Humanities, Law, Engineering, and Medical Sciences. It is designed to prepare students through an intensive 10-month curriculum that aligns with the requirements for direct entry into degree programmes.

In a statement, the Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Egbe, indicated that eligible applicants must possess a minimum of five O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings from SSCE, WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB.

Dr. Pascal Nyiam, the Director of UNICAL JUPEB, emphasized that the programme is one of the fastest and surest ways to secure direct entry admission into the 200 Level of any undergraduate programme at the University of Calabar and other JUPEB-affiliated universities in Nigeria and abroad. He also highlighted the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Banku Obi’s commitment to the programme, assuring that students who meet the requirements in their final exams will gain admission into their desired degree programmes.

Dr. Nyiam assured prospective students that the Directorate has implemented proper measures to make the programme engaging and manageable throughout the process.

For further enquiries, applicants should visit Uni-Cal JUPEP Office located at the CES Building (Behind Uni-Cal Library) or call: +2348022282998, +2348039339026 or +2348035907984
