Unical PGSG President Congratulates NYCN Cross River Chairman-elect, Expresses Optimism About Positive Changes

In a commendable show of solidarity and support, the President of the Postgraduate Students’ Government (PGSG) at the University of Calabar, Comrade Prince Obedience Abeng, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Comrade Olayi Emmanuel, the newly elected Chairman of the Cross River State chapter of the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), and his executive team following their impressive victory in the recent elections.

He delivered the congratulatory message on July 20, 2024, in a telephone interview from Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

The keenly contested elections were marked by a high turnout, drawing considerable attention from various youth organizations, civil society groups, and the political class.

In his message, Comrade Abeng praised Olayi’s resilience, dedication, and commitment to youth development, highlighting the victory as a triumph for the youth in the state.

On behalf of the Postgraduate Students’ Government (PGSG) of the University of Calabar, I extend my warmest congratulations to Comrade Olayi Emmanuel and his executive team on their resounding victory. This triumph is a clear reflection of the collective aspirations of the youth in Cross River State and a testament to his exceptional leadership qualities.”

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the NYCN and other youth organizations, including the PGSG, and expressed readiness to work closely with the new leadership.

“As we celebrate this victory, it is crucial that we unite our efforts towards the common good. The challenges we face as youth can only be surmounted through cooperation and collaboration. The PGSG is ready to work closely with the new leadership to advance policies and programs that will benefit the youth demographic.”

Reflecting on the future, Comrade Abeng expressed optimism about the positive changes that Comrade Olayi’s leadership would bring to the National Youths Council of Nigeria in Cross River State.

“Comrade Olayi’s leadership comes at a crucial time when the voice of the youth needs to be stronger and more influential. I believe his tenure will bring about the much-needed reforms and innovations that will pave the way for a brighter future for Nigerian youth,” he concluded.
