Abia Government Cancel PTS Results for Nursing School

The Abia State Government has announced the results of the Public Schools of Nursing Pre-Test Session (PTS).

The Director-General for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu Umuahia, disclosed the cancellation while briefing reporters on the outcome of the state executive committee meeting held at the Government House this week. Kanu, who said the state would select a new date for the resumption of the PTS examination, explained that students would not pay additional fees to sit the examination again

The director said the investigation into the incident is still ongoing. According to him, the committee tasked with investigating the matter met with the affected students and officials involved in the petition and received complaints from all parties.

Two weeks ago, some nursing students protested in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, demanding the annulment of the PTS examination results. They alleged that the findings released by the nursing body were grossly fabricated and some of them called for the sacking of the Abia State Director of Nursing, Mrs Onyukwu Nwakaego. Governor Alex Ottie created a committe to look into the issue. Further, for thorough verification, the complainant has been asked to submit evidence of the complaint to the state government. He vowed to show no mercy to anyone found guilty.
