Dele Momodu Defends Rufai Oseni, Receive Backlash for Journalistic Style

Dele Momodu, a senior member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has endorsed Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni.

Rufai clashed with All Progressives Congress (APC) heavyweight Jesustega Onakpasa on Monday, October 30, over President Bola Tinubu’s policies and the harsh economic situation in the country.

While APC supporters condemned Oseni, opposition supporters defended him, and a video of the clash went viral.

In a post to Instagram on Friday, Momodu defended Rufai, writing: “I have read many articles, essays, comments and op-eds about Rufai Oseni’s style of interviewing guests at ARISE NEWS TELEVISION. Why not? All of us who criticize others should expect to be offended from time to time, but we don’t expect to be abused to that extent.

Anyway.” I’m a big fan of @rufaioseni. The reason is simple. It’s about his intellectual capacity. He is sound and confident. His style is uniquely his own, and it fascinates and frustrates critics and admirers alike. I am writing this to encourage him. He is bright and should stay focused. God bless him.
