The incumbent, Duyé Dili (People’s Democratic Party), was declared the winner of the Bayelsa State gubernatorial election held on November 11, 2023.
According to the results announced on Monday, November 13, in Yenagoa by the State Election Commissioner, Professor Kuta Farouk, Dili received a total of 175,196 votes, defeating his closest rival, Timipre Silva of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 110,108 votes.
Dili won in six of the eight Local Government in the state, while Silva won in the local government area of Brass and Nembe.
Dili won 18,435 votes in Ogbia, 18,465 in Korokuma/Opokuma, 37,777 in Yenagoa, 23,172 in Ekeremor, 24,685 in Southern Ijo, 4,556 in Nembe, and 12,602 in Brass.
