Suspected bandits killed members of the local vigilante group and injured three others in the village of Baktumbe in the Ningi local government area of Bauchi Province.
Sources in the area told Punch that the militants who stormed the village on Saturday night 2023/12/9 also kidnapped 4 others.
According to sources, as soon as the bandits arrived in the village, they began shooting sporadically to scare the residents.
He said those injured in the shooting were Habila Garba, Nura Yakubu, and Sam’ana, who are currently being treated at a medical facility in Ninghi
After the gunmen left the village and the residents were hiding, they discovered that the bandits took 7 villagers, but later released 3 and captured the other 4.
“4 people kidnapped and detained by the kidnappers are Abdullahi Manje, Abdulkarim Na Malam, Hassan See, and Yusuf S.It’s Pawa,” he said.
The source added that after leaving the village, the suspect shooter headed to the Luctu forest in the area.
