President Bola Tinubu met with the CEO and Chairman of Samsung in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum event.

In his speech, President Tinubu highlighted Nigeria’s large population, vibrant youth, and infrastructure deficit as investment opportunities for Samsung.

He emphasized Nigeria’s “willing-buyer, willing-seller” investment environment, which ensures easy capital flow in and out of the country.

Tinubu discussed opportunities for Samsung to invest in sectors like oil, gas, renewable energy, engineering, technology and agriculture in Nigeria.

He cited the potential for Samsung to participate in the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund and establish off-grid, cold-chain integration in agriculture to reduce post-harvest losses.

The Samsung executives expressed interest in expanding their presence in Nigeria, citing success of their sister companies and opportunities in power generation, renewable energy, transportation infrastructure and oil/gas engineering.

Overall, the meeting focused on exploring areas of deeper collaboration between Nigeria and Samsung to leverage Nigeria’s large market and infrastructure needs with Samsung’s technological capabilities.
