Police apprehend suspected robbers and rescue three kidnapped victims in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has announced that it has rescued three kidnapping victims in Kidandan village in Giwa Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesman, ASP Mansur Hassan, told newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday, November 15, that the command’s investigators rescued the victims on November 13.

He said the feat was accomplished by intensified patrols around the general area and the bandits abandoned their victims.

Hassan said the bandits kidnapped the victims on October 3 while on their way to Kano along the Kaduna-Abuja highway, adding that the rescued victims have since been linked to their families.

He said, “At about 1800 hours on Tuesday, a team patrolling that vulnerable area saw a man whose face was swollen and in excruciating pain.

When questioned, the man said he had been attacked with a hammer by a passenger who had robbed him of his motorcycle.”

The spokesperson said that due to the swift action of the investigators, the suspect was arrested in the Bagadaza Dogarawa area of Sabo Galin Zaria LGA.

He also said that police recovered a motorcycle and a hammer from the suspect, adding that investigations into the case are ongoing

Hassan reiterated that the police are doing their utmost to combat crime and criminal activity in the state and asked for the support of all.
