Dr. Valentine Unimuke, continue, dear war heroes,

On this special day, the Armed Forces Remembrance Day of Nigeria, I would like to send my heartfelt tribute to each and every one of you who have dedicated your lives to serving our great nation. Your courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting the freedoms and rights of our citizens deserve our utmost respect and gratitude.

As the Secretary General of Human Rights Watch and Youths Empowerment Foundation Nigeria, I have witnessed firsthand the critical role that you play in ensuring the safety and security of our society. Your sacrifices, both seen and unseen, serve as a testament to your unyielding dedication to upholding the values of justice and equality.

As we celebrate this day, it is important for us to reflect on the immense sacrifices that you have made in the line of duty. Many of you have faced unimaginable challenges, witnessed the horrors of war, and experienced the loss of comrades. Your resilience and strength in the face of adversity inspire us all, reminding us of the true meaning of bravery.

While we commemorate the fallen heroes who have paid the ultimate price in defense of our nation, we must also honor and support the veterans who continue to bear the physical and emotional scars of their service. It is our duty as a society to ensure that they receive the care and support they deserve, as they have given so much for us.

Let us not forget the families of our brave servicemen and women, who have endured countless sleepless nights, anxiety, and fear.

Their unwavering support and sacrifice are instrumental in the success of our armed forces. We must continue to stand by them and provide the necessary support to help them rebuild their lives, ensuring that they never feel alone or forgotten.

On this solemn day, let us reaffirm our commitment to promoting and defending human rights, both within our armed forces and throughout our society. Let us strive for a Nigeria where the rights and dignity of all citizens are respected, regardless of their background or beliefs.

To all the war heroes, you are our nation’s pride, and your service will always be remembered. Today, and every day, we salute you and express our deepest gratitude for your extraordinary dedication to our beloved Nigeria.

With deepest respect and appreciation,

Dr. Unimuke Valentine
