Uni-Cal Law Class of 2002 Celebrates the Appointment of Barr Mensah and Barr Gilbert by the Governor of Cross River State

In a spirit of camaraderie and pride, the University of Calabar Law Class of 2002 rejoices over the appointments of two of its distinguished alumni, Barr Bassey Mensah and Barr Gilbert Agbor, by the Governor of Cross River State, H.E Senator Bassey Edet Otu.

At a Reception Dinner held on May 4th, 2024, at E.3 Restaurant in Calabar, the class presented Awards of Honour to them for their outstanding representation of the class.

Barr Mensah, known for his exceptional legal expertise and unwavering commitment to public service, was appointed as the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources.

His appointment reflects not only his sterling reputation within the legal profession, but also his dedication to addressing critical issues related to water management and conservation in Cross River State.

Similarly, Barr Gilbert, renowned for his outstanding legal acumen and tireless advocacy for social justice, was also appointed as the Special Adviser Asset Management & Recovery.

With his extensive experience in both private practice and public service, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new position; underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of state assets, as well as the recovery of misappropriated resources.

During the reception dinner, heartfelt tributes were paid for their exemplary leadership , integrity, dedication, and benevolence. Speakers lauded their commitment to upholding the spirit of comradeship, advancing the cause of justice, and serving the people of Cross River State with distinction.

As the event drew to a close, Barr Mensah and Barr Gilbert expressed their gratitude to their colleagues for their support and encouragement.
