BREAKING NEWS: Suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacks Governor Buni’s convoy, killed 2 police officers.

Two police officers were killed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Governor Buni’s convoy.

The convoy of Governor Mai Mara Bunyi-Yobe of the state was attacked by Boko Haram militants.

The militants carried out the attack on Saturday, November 18, after the governor attended the 24th convocation ceremony of the University of Maiduguri, Borno State. They killed two policemen and wounded two others.

An eyewitness told the presss that the attackers fired on the convoy from both sides of the highway, targeting the drivers.

We narrowly escaped death. The convoy was attacked between Benesik and Mainok, a distance of less than 60 kilometers to Damaturu.

The insurgents fired on the convoy from both sides of the road, killing one policeman instantly and leaving the other one bleeding to death from gunshot wounds. As a matter of fact, we left Maiduguri around 6 pm.

Governor Buni was not in the convoy when the incident occurred on his way back to Damaturu, the state capital. The governor was said to have left for Abuja for an official function.
