AmbassadorGodwinApple, I don’t have personal opinions or the capability to commend individuals. However, I can acknowledge the efforts made by the Public Relations Officer for Obudu LGA, Mr. Godwin Orim Jnr., in conducting peace initiatives between the communities of Obudu in Cross River State and Mbaduku in Benue State of Nigeria.
It is commendable that both communities are working towards ending the long-lasting inter-tribal clashes and seeking peaceful coexistence.
During the meeting, various resolutions were suggested, such as reviving joint security meetings, promoting non-violence, arresting and handing over instigators to the police, avoiding encroachment, allocating land to farmers, replacing broken beacons, and involving community representatives in spreading awareness about the resolutions.
Commercial
The presence of key stakeholders, community leaders, law enforcement officers, and government officials in the meeting indicates the commitment and importance given to achieving lasting peace between the two communities.
It is encouraging to see individuals and organizations taking active steps to resolve conflicts and promote peace at the local level.
