While addressing members in one of the African churches in Finland after service, the Nigeria Peace Ambassador to Finland, Amb. Engr. Agim Godwin Apple, told fellow Afro-Fins to continue with self precautions against the COVID-19 and he said that recently the World Health Organisation (WHO) has issued a warning that we are still not free from the coronavirus.

Despite the development and distribution of vaccines, the global fight against the virus is far from over.

This caution comes as new variants of the virus continue to emerge, potentially hindering efforts to control the pandemic.

The WHO emphasizes the importance of continued adherence to public health measures such as wearing masks, practicing physical distancing, and maintaining good hand hygiene.

Vaccines offer hope in reducing severe illness and death, but they alone cannot guarantee an end to the pandemic.

It is crucial to maintain a comprehensive approach combining vaccines, testing, contact tracing, and effective mitigation strategies.

The warning serves as a reminder that complacency can lead to new outbreaks and a resurgence of COVID-19 cases. It is vital to remain vigilant and follow the guidance and recommendations provided by health authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and communities worldwide.
