We Have No Interest in Merging with PDP or Any Other Entity – LP

The Labour Party (LP) has denied claims that it is in a merger arrangement with any political party. The party’s Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifor, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, November 16.

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had earlier called on the opposition parties to merge and save Nigeria from a one-party dictatorship.

The Labour Party’s Acting National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifor, said Atiku’s call was a good preparation that all Nigerians should consider.

In a new statement, however, Ifor said there would be no merger. According to Ifor, the previous state of affairs was purely “news twisted and sensationalized by a section of the media to embarrass the party.”

Ifor said the LP had just finished the 2023 general election episode, the post-event process had not yet taken place, and the party’s path forward had not been discussed
